finding a place

Filed under: home — journeys @ 11:40 am

My sweetie and I have been trying to assess our options of where to live after we get married. We don’t see it as an option to live in either of our parents’ house anymore. We want to celebrate our married live independently. Living on our own would be a great challenge but pretty exciting! I really hope we find a decent place. Lexington Real Estate seems like a great place to stay at. I hope we find a place like that.

Choosing a house or any kind of place you would be staying is a very crucial decision. You must rely on trusted contractors or risk buying a house with all sorts of problems. Well, I’m crossing my fingers that we would be able to find a great deal. I just really hope that we can fit it all in our budget. Preparing for a wedding and finding a house can really be a pain since it entails a lot of money. But of course, it’s like a big investment and would affect the rest of your life.

tokyo cafe

Filed under: food — journeys @ 10:33 am

I have often passed by Tokyo Café whenever I’m at SM the Block going to the main mall or vice versa. I have always been intrigued that the place always seemed packed. Well, probably because the place is a bit small, thus the illusion. Well, I was pretty curious about the place, enough for me to want to give it a try.

Well, first that you would observe is their window display. Well, I can’t entirely say that the display was appetizing since they were merely a mock setup of their dishes. As you go in, you can see the designed walls which somehow gives a nice ambiance to the place. The waiters were attentive, bordering annoying since ever guest who comes in and out were greeted in Japanese by almost every waiter (making an echo effect). That would have been pretty nice but there were just a lot of people coming in and out and hearing the greeting over and over makes it …errr… a bit annoying.

Uno

I first discovered Uno when one of my best friends brought along a whole cheesecake from Uno when we had a simple get together at my place. I think it’s the best cheesecake that I have ever tasted. It’s a melt in your mouth kind of thing. It went pretty well with the Peach flavored Novelino for post dinner conversations. One can simply close his eyes while taking a piece in your mouth and just let your taste buds soak in its awesome flavor. It’s just a pretty simple cheesecake but it pretty much hits home.

resumes

Filed under: business — journeys @ 10:20 am

Are you happy with the job that you have? Well, I think only a few can sincerely say that they’re entirely happy with it. You have probably printed and distributed a couple of business resumes already in search for that perfect job. Oh well. I don’t see myself applying for another corporate job any time soon (or probably ever). I’m happy where I am now. Anyways, I wish you all find the right jobs for you.

short cut cure

Filed under: health — journeys @ 10:10 am

Statistics show that there is a rapid increase of obese people. I guess that’s why companies have been taking advantage of making diet pills in order to address this issue. Having a short cut cure seems really appealing. But I wonder how sustainable it is. I have heard a lot of stories wherein they gained back (and more) all that they lost the moment they stopped using the pills. Oh well. One must really be careful in choosing what pills to take.

wish her luck

Filed under: personal — journeys @ 12:32 pm

I’m happy for my friend who has gone a long way already. She was able to send herself to have a masteral degree, then go abroad to continue her studies there while teaching as well. She already has a place of her own and driving her own car. It looks like she doesn’t have any problems. She can afford the cost of living there as well as pay for her other bills like her New York auto insurance. Maybe what’s lacking in her life now is somebody she can spend her life with. Well, I know she’s on her way to finding love. I wish her luck.

more stuff to buy

Filed under: home, shopping — journeys @ 12:28 pm

I still have a couple of plans for my room redecoration. I already bought 2 bookshelves and a work table but I’m still looking for some discount furniture. I hope I can find a cheap sofa and/or a side table. If I can’t find a cheap sofa, a nice bean bag would do just fine. I just want to lounge somewhere else besides my bed and my work area. I’m still planning to put some curtains instead of putting back the blinds. I’m sure the curtains will do wonders on setting up the ambiance of the room.

reminds me of you

Filed under: personal — journeys @ 12:27 pm

It’s amazing how a song can remind you of a certain person. It may be a friend or a previous special someone. It may not necessarily be your theme song. It can be a song you heard when you were at a certain place with that person. Or somehow you relate that song to that person. Sometimes it makes you melancholic or nostalgic. Anyway, I’m just blabbering. I just heard this certain song and this person just popped into my mind. I wonder how that person is right now.

cooking made easy

Filed under: travel — journeys @ 10:57 pm

I love cooking. It’s actually a great opportunity to explore more the world of cooking now that my mom is having her grand vacation in the US. It would be a great time to experiment and try out cooking new dishes. Atleast mom left a considerable budget for our food while she’s away. I already did my groceries for the coming week and have an idea already of what dishes to cook.

It has been a week already and I’m really having fun cooking for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Well, it would have been much easier if we have food Processors since I mincing some ingredients for certain dishes does take up quite a bit of time. Having food Processors really does save a lot of time. You can do so much with food Processors and can really make a cook’s life so much easier. There really a lot of kitchen tools one can take advantage of.
